1.) She’ll look great in that wetsuit.
Not everyone looks good in a wetsuit, but mom is sure to rock it. Mom will simply radiate feminine beauty in her practical and form-fitting neoprene Farmer Jane. If mom is going to have an adventure, there's no harm in looking good while she's doing it! Fun fact: the NRS “Grizzly” cut wetsuits can be a little kinder to some of mom’s curves.
2.) She was tough enough to give birth to you, paddling will be easy after that.
Whitewater rafting has the reward of bringing out a person’s primal survival instincts. As the colossal waves crash all around, and hungry paddle-munching hydraulics catch the raft in their spiral vortices, mom will hear the call of her inner tigress and head to a special place we like to call, “Save-my-family mode.” You’ll never see mom quite the same after trying to keep pace with her overpowering paddle strokes.
3.) If she falls out of the raft, you can repay her the favor of raising you by rescuing her.
If heaven forbids, mom does happen to gently slip out of the raft into the turbid maelstrom it will behoove you to pull her back in as quickly as possible. You’d better not show any signs of exerting yourself either. We wouldn’t want mom to need to be pulled in by any handsome, burly raft guides. Conversely, if you happen to be the one who falls out, then who better to yank your sorry butt back into the boat than the woman who once changed your diapers!
4.) Mom will love spending a nice day in the outdoors with her family.
Most river trips have some lulls in the action and you can look around for a moment and realize that you are actually surrounded by astounding natural beauty. Between drenching, heart-pounding rapids, mom will look up and realize she's deep in the center of Northern New Yorks glorious Adirondack Mountain wilderness. It’s great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the beaten path. Just the sort of thing mom loves!
5.) Mom can shop for a nice rafting t-shirt and other whitewater memorabilia after the trip.
Rafting is the highlight of any family vacation. The shared experience of working as a team, braving the river and successfully reaching the takeout creates memories that will last a lifetime. After the trip mom can augment those memories by shopping for some mementos to help mark the experience. She can view and purchase the exciting rafting pictures, or bring home a nostalgic refrigerator magnet!
